Membership at Temple Emanu-El
Membership at Temple Emanu-El is open to everyone. Perhaps you are seeking a place for a faith-full and rich study of Torah; or perhaps you want to meet and build friendships with new people. You may be Jewish but want to add more Jewishness to your life; or, you are not now Jewish and you want to see what Jewish life has to offer. Whether you are married or single or partnered, have children or don't, are younger or older, Temple Emanu-El has many ways and ideas for how you can enjoy synagogue life.
To inquire about membership, contact Sharon Sock in our Temple Office.
We are eager to meet with you! If you'd like, we can arrange to have a current member contact you to gain a more personal perspective of our community.
We also invite you to join us for Shabbat, where we'll provide you with a host to show you around. If you are coming from out of town, let us know and we'll host you for Shabbat dinner on Friday evening. We look forward to all that you will add to our diverse community!
Gift of the Heart
In 2014, Temple Emanu-El became one of the first synagogues in the nation to revolutionize the dues system. We proudly replaced it with the "Gift of the Heart" voluntary pledge program. Rather than paying an assigned, fixed dues amount, members pledge a financial contribution that is both comfortable and meaningful to them.
As part of our voluntary contribution model, all new members are asked to make their first Gift of the Heart pledge when the membership application form is filled out. You have many payment options and we are happy to help you set up a payments schedule that works for you.
Our fiscal year begins on July 1st each year. Each Spring we send out a Gift of the Heart mailing with your new commitment form.
