Fundraising Development Associate
Temple Emanu-El, a busy synagogue in Providence, RI, is seeking a well organized and detail oriented Fundraising Development Associate. This position can be accomplished as either a full or part time flexible position, depending on the applicant's scheduling availability, up to approx. 35 hours per week. Responsible for providing support of the organization’s fundraising efforts from individuals, large companies, and small businesses.
This position reports to the Executive Director and supports Leadership Staff with preparation for stakeholder meetings, the completion of donor and marketplace research, and other activities as directed.

There are four essential job functions: Donor Management & Tracking, Donor Relations & Stewardship, Event Management & Communications
Donor Management and Tracking:
- Prepare weekly email bulletins, maintain online calendar of events, create online forms, maintain and update synagogue website www.teprov.org, post on various social media platforms
- Create and manage a donor management CRM system to track donor prospects, gift reporting, donor acknowledgment, fundraising reports, and troubleshooting database issues.
- Create copy, letters, emails to congregants and corporate donors, Constant Contact emails to the entire congregation, and other writing tasks as assigned.
- Contribute to the development of key fundraising metrics.
- Create analytical reports and dashboards for key stakeholders.
- Contribute to the design and compilation of an annual fundraising report.
- Maintain confidentiality and security of all donor management system data and processes.
Donor Relations and Stewardship:
- Provide excellent and timely communications to maintain strong relationships and ensure continued donations.
Event Management:
- Assist with and help manage two or more special events per year (e.g., 100 Anniversary Gala Dinner, legacy giving education programs, donor recognition events, etc.)
Communications:
- Develop communications materials to inform congregants about giving opportunities.
- Develop a program calendar for messages about legacy giving and donation opportunities.
- Assist with developing inspirational donor profiles. These profiles will be used in marketing materials to promote additional gifts to the Temple.
- Assist with website content creation, email and brochure development, fact sheets, donor recognition plaques, etc.
Job Specific Requirements:
- Stay current with important trends in the fundraising field, especially ones that are relevant to “small shop” development organizations and large synagogues.
- Must constantly keep up to date on incoming emails, follow-up, and follow through.
- Must communicate clearly with the Executive Director, other staff, and other key stakeholders around priorities, deadlines, and deliverables.
- Must sign a confidentiality agreement ensuring donor and prospect confidentiality.
- Must have reliable transportation to attend occasional off-site meetings and events in the local community.
- Must maintain schedule flexibility to attend occasional evening or weekend programs and events.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of development experience, preferably in a “small shop” setting.
- Well-organized self-starter with a strong interest in fundraising.
- Strong interest in helping a synagogue achieve its fundraising goals.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
- Strong computer and internet research skills.
- Database management experience is strongly preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workplace applications strongly preferred.
- Ability to present information concisely and effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to work independently and within a team.
- Data- and deadline-driven professional with the ability to multi-task and with solid organizational and time management skills
Salary: $45-55K per year FT, commensurate with experience and employment type
Benefits: Vacation, sick and personal time; option to participate in the synagogue’s medical, dental and 403(B) plans for FT employees
Schedule: If FT, Monday - Friday (we work remotely on Mondays); 35 hours per week. If PT or Contract we can discuss how this would work.

Pay: $45,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
