7:00 PM - 8:00 PMABOUT DR. COHN:
Dr. Noa Lea Cohn is a researcher, curator, and lecturer, working to bridge the worlds of art, religion, and education. Through her research and entrepreneurial activities, she empowers Haredi women and promotes open dialogue about identity, gender and religion.
Dr. Cohn completed a PhD at Bar-Ilan University and will be a Postdoctoral Fellow at Brandeis University. Alongside her academic work, she is the CEO of the ArtShelterGallery and founded the literary journal "Kol.Shira.Isha". The journal's series was recently acquired by Harvard University. This acquisition marks a significant milestone and attests to the international recognition of the journal's importance in the field of contemporary Hebrew Women’s poetry.
ArtShelterGallery, situated in the heart of Jerusalem's Haredi Mekor Baruch neighborhood, bridges diverse audiences through contemporary Jewish art. It champions underrepresented Orthodox artists alongside established ones, showcasing works like the "Comicskeit" exhibition on Jewish humor and spearheading the monumental "Graffidos" graffiti project by ultra-Orthodox graffiti artists. The gallery fosters dialogue between art and Jewish culture, offering tours, workshops, and collaborations to cultivate global connections.
